Information about coffee
The story of coffee
Ethiopia Guji Benti Nenka comes from Guji in the Oromia region, more precisely from the Hambella area, which is internationally recognised in specialty coffee for exceptionally aromatic, clean and elegant Ethiopian coffees. The coffee is produced by members of Kebir Coop, working in an environment defined by very high elevation, cooler nights and slow cherry maturation.
Guji is one of Ethiopia’s most distinctive coffee-growing regions, known for floral expression, fruit complexity and refined structure. The elevation of around 2200 metres allows the cherries to mature slowly, increasing bean density and helping the cup develop greater clarity and aromatic definition. These conditions are particularly well suited to washed coffees, where cleanliness, precise acidity and transparency are key.
The coffee is produced from Ethiopian local landraces. These varieties are an important part of Ethiopia’s coffee heritage and contribute to the aromatic diversity, complexity and distinctive origin character of the cup.
VARIETAL, PROCESS
Guji Banti Nenka is composed of Ethiopian local landraces. These genetically diverse varieties are typical of Ethiopia and often produce a highly complex, elegant and aromatically clear cup profile.
This coffee is washed and fermented for 72 hours in washed tanks. This process highlights clarity, fruit precision and elegant structure in the cup. The extended time in the tanks supports a more complete breakdown of the mucilage around the bean, contributing to a cleaner profile, improved texture and greater aromatic definition.
